And then there were two. After almost a month of high-octane cricket, there are only two sides left to battle for the 2026 men's T20 World Cup trophy.

With the best players in the men's game exchanging huge sixes, stunning catches and cartwheeling wickets, we have been treated to one of the great iterations of the World Cup in the shortest format. Now, only India and New Zealand remain standing in the battle for silverware, but which side will outlast the other?

Each side that descended on India and Sri Lanka across February and March would have been dreaming about lifting the trophy, but now only two sides will be able to hoist the silverware in the men's game.

India and New Zealand will take to the field on Sunday to fight for the trophy, with the eyes of the cricketing world eagerly awaiting the match.

India arrive as slight favourites but little can be taken for granted, especially with how the two semi-finals went.

For New Zealand, nothing will feel out of reach after one of the great centuries from Finn Allen saw the Kiwi opener fly to 100 not out from just 33 deliveries. Considering Tim Seifert raced to 58 from 33 in a pacey innings, the fact Allen scored almost double Seifert's runs in the same number of deliveries shows how special his innings was.

This saw the Black Caps chase down South Africa's 169/8 with nine wickets and 43 balls to spare.

For India, it seemed like it would be a big win in the semi-finals as they hammered their way to 253/7 with this featuring another stunning score of 89 from 42 from Sanju Samson. However, Jacob Bethell's inspired 105 from 48 seemed to be steering England to the win, but they fell seven runs short in an agonising defeat.

While India's batting was excellent, their bowlers were taken to the cleaners by England, which will be a real worry heading into the final.

With the pair meeting at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, this final could go either way. If New Zealand can marry their excellent bowling up with more destructive batting, then they will push India all the way.

However, if all of India's bowlers can find a way to rekindle the miserly wicket-taking form we have become so used to seeing, then they will be confident.

This will all likely come together to help bring the curtain down on what has been a stunning month of T20 cricket.
