Pakistan vs Ireland T20 Preview & Tips

Pakistan head into their final match ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup hoping to garner some real momentum ahead of the tournament.

Ireland will feel they have a real opportunity to underline their ability to get out of their T20 group by claiming the scalp of Pakistan ahead of the competition.

Against the Aussies, Pakistan dominated. Wins by 22-runs, 90-runs and 111-runs saw Pakistan get better and better as they put their opponents to the sword with the bat. Not to be outdone, Pakistan's bowlers did not allow the Aussies to breach the 150-run mark, while they bowled them out for less than 110 in two of their three innings.

Salman Ali Agha was vital across the series, scoring runs and leading the team well. I back him to continue to build on his impressive average, which stands at 36.20 in 2026.

I am also backing Pakistan to continue the momentum they have created from their 3-0 T20 series win over the Aussies by beating Ireland for the fourth consecutive time in the T20 game.

Ireland are looking to edge towards the T20 World Cup on the back of a string of wins that will see them confident that they can ruffle some feathers at the tournament.

In a group with Australia, Oman, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, Ireland will fancy themselves against Oman and Zimbabwe, while they have all of the tools to beat Sri Lanka. If they can put in a statement performance against Pakistan this week, then it will put them in great shape to beat an Australia outfit that Pakistan recently hammered 3-0.

However, with three consecutive defeats coming at the hands of their opponents in the T20 game, I am not backing the travelling side. Ireland have some big-hitters and a solid bowling attack, but I believe they will feel the full force of this new-look Pakistan batting line-up.
