Quetta Gladiators vs Hyderabad Kingsmen Preview & Tips

The Quetta Gladiators were not able to secure a win over the Karachi Kings in their opening match of the 2026 Pakistan Super League as they were beaten by 14 runs.

The Hyderabad Kingsmen were no match for the Lahore Qalandars in the opening match of the year as they slipped to a 69-run loss at the hands of the reigning champions.

The Quetta Gladiators began their 2026 PSL season with a disappointing performance as they were beaten by the Karachi Kings in a 14-run loss.

In 2025, the Gladiators finished at the top of the pile after winning seven of their 10 matches. However, this counted for little in the playoffs as the Gladiators were beaten by six wickets in the final by an inspired Lahore Qalandars.

This season, the Gladiators will know that they cannot afford to let one defeat snowball into two. While the Kingsmen will hope to take advantage of the Gladiators losing in their opener, I do not predict they will manage it against their experienced opponents. One thing that will have give them a lot of confidence is Shamyl Hussain's score of 52, and I back him to lead form the front once again.

Hyderabad Kingsmen Form

The Hyderabad Kingsmen were given a rough welcome to the PSL as their first-ever match saw the side beaten by 69 runs.

The Kingsmen rallied well with the ball as they ensured that the Qalandars did not go beyond the 200-run mark despite getting to 84 without loss after 8.1 overs. However, their score of 199/6 proved too much for the Kingsmen as they were skittled for 130 in 20 overs. Ultimately, the top order of the Kingsmen struggled to get going, with the rest of their batting order also finding runs tough to come by.

Now, with a battle against the Gladiators to come, I worry for the Kingsmen. Their bowling line up found wicket-taking tough, while their batting unit could not gain any real traction. With this in mind, I am backing the Kingsmen to slip to a second successive defeat this season.
