Peshawar Zalmi vs Pindiz Preview & Tips - Zalmi tipped for victory over PSL newcomers

Pindiz will make their Pakistan Super League bow this weekend in a clash they will feel they have every chance of winning. 

This will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive meeting. 

Peshawar Zalmi are aiming for a far better year this time around after securing just four wins across their 10 regular season matches. 

Ultimately, they were fortunate to completely avoid finish at the foot of the standings, with their two wins across their last four matches stretching their lead over Multan Sultans at the foot of the table. Positive was the manner in which they beat Islamabad United by six wickets and Multan Sultans by seven wickets in those victories. 

Both of their wins came batting second and perhaps this may yet prove to be a tactic of theirs as they look to push on this season. While Pindiz arrive as an unknown quantity, Zalmi will almost certainly target this as a game they should win. The debutants will need time to gel as a team, so taking them on in game one should end in victory for the home side.

Pindiz head into their opening match of the season hoping to stamp their authority on the competition by downing one of last year's strugglers. 

The likes of captain Mohammad Rizwan, Sam Billings, Daryl Mitchell and Mohammad Amir will be raring to go in game one. However, while each of the players is a match winner on their day, can they bring it all together in their opening game of the season? 

While I predict that Pindiz will have their moments across the competition, I do not back them to win their opening match as they are forced to use this game as a learning moment rather than one they will taste victory in.
