Peshawar Zalmi vs Hyderabad Kingsmen Preview & Tips - Zalmi to cap off incredible PSL season with silverware

Hyderabad Kingsmen edged to a thrilling two-run win over Islamabad United in the second Eliminator as they edged to within one win of an unlikely crown in their debut season. 

The pair have met once before, with PZ securing a four-wicket win over HK back in early-April. 

Peshawar Zalmi have continued to showcase their incredible ability to win this season, with their 10 completed matches across the regular campaign and playoffs ending in nine wins and a single defeat. 

Their only defeat of the season came at the hands of the Lahore Qalandars as Zalmi were beaten by six wickets. It is worth noting that this match came after PZ had already confirmed their place at the summit meaning they would have a shot at taking their place in the final via the Qualifier. 

In the Qualifier, PZ dominated Islamabad United. After Babar Azam (103) helped to smash PZ to 221/7, their bowlers went about dismantling IU's batting unit, with the side restricted to just 151. Their 70-run win showcased just how far ahead of the second best side in the competition they are. 

Babar Azam has continued to score runs at an impressive rate this season, and I back him to breach the 600-run mark as he leads his side to the trophy. 

Hyderabad Kingsmen had to secure their place in the final the hard way after going through both Eliminators. 

Five wins in 10 league matches saw HK finish ahead of the Qalandars via their slightly superior net run rate in an incredibly close battle for the top four. In the first Eliminator, HK hammered Multan Sultans in an eight-wicket win that was built on restricting their opponents to just 159/9 in their 20 overs. In the second Eliminator, it was all about trying to win each and every delivery as HK beat IU by two runs. In a pulsating tie that could have gone either way, HK held their nerve. 

Now, the Kingsmen face the biggest challenge in the PSL. A well-rested PZ side that has only lost once all season awaits them in the grand final, and I predict that this will be a step too far for the debutants as they slump to a defeat in the final.
