Pakistan vs West Indies Women Preview & Tips

Pakistan Women will target their clash with the West Indies as the perfect opportunity to build some real momentum heading into the Women’s T20 World Cup in June.

West Indies Women slumped to a 3-0 T20 series loss at the hands of Australia in their last competitive series as their poor run in the T20 format continued.

Pakistan Women have won their last four T20’s

Head To Head

Pakistan Women have only managed to secure two wins across their last 10 T20’s against the Windies. While the Windies have won eight games in this run, the last time the pair met came back in May of 2024.

Pakistan Women Form

Pakistan Women will have to be perfect at the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup if they are to progress from a group that features Australia, Bangladesh, India, the Netherlands and South Africa.

Three of the five sides in their group will be expected to easily beat Pakistan, while Bangladesh and the Netherlands are two nations they can beat. This makes a match against a strong Windies side that is outside of the upper-echelon of teams even more important.

Across their last four, Pakistan have stormed to consecutive victories. While they were strong against Zimbabwe, their 53-run win over South Africa was the most eye-catching. Victory over one of the top women’s teams shows they can beat the best, and I predict they will extend their winning run in another strong performance.

West Indies Women Form

West Indies Women sit in the opposite group to Pakistan, with the former taking on England, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland and Sri Lanka. With some exceptional firepower to come, the Windies will have to find a way to consistently be at their best.

Worrying for the Windies is their current run. While their last three defeats came at the hands of Australia, they were also beaten twice by Sri Lanka prior to this. Two wins over South Africa followed on from three defeats to England and one loss to the Proteas.

When the Windies have not quite been at it, they have been beaten. Pakistan constitute an excellent test, and this match could go either way. However, the recent form of the West Indies is a real worry, and I predict they will lose for the 10th time across their last 13 outings.
