Multan Sultans vs Karachi Kings Preview & Tips
Multan Sultans slipped to a frustrating 24-run loss at the hands of Peshawar Zalmi in their last game as they missed the chance to hand their opponents their first defeat.
Karachi Kings were no match for Islamabad United in their latest PSL match as their eight-wicket loss saw the side slip to a third consecutive defeat.
- MS have won four of their six in the PSL this season (L2)
- Karachi Kings have lost three of their six this season (W3)
Head To Head
Multan Sultans have managed to secure six wins across their last 10 against Karachi Kings with the latter winning the other four meetings.
Multan Sultans Form
Multan Sultans have been enjoying a very good season so far, with their six outings ending in four victories and two defeats, with this enough to send them into the top half of the standings.
Frustratingly, they were unable to make the most out of their clash with PSL leaders Peshawar Zalmi as they slumped to a 24-run loss. In that match, MS restricted PZ to 196/6 in a solid bowling display. However, they could not get the necessary momentum in their chase as they slumped to 172/8. MS will want to see this as an opportunity to learn when it comes to playing the best, with Zalmi clearly the top side right now.
In their latest clash with the Kings, MS will feel they have all of the quality to secure victory. A win would be their fifth in seven outings and it would not only cut the gap between themselves and the leaders, it would also keep them clear of the chasing pack.
Karachi Kings Form
Karachi Kings were easily beaten by Islamabad United in their last PSL match as their score of 150/6 proved insufficient against an opponent that strolled to their target with eight wickets and 24 deliveries to spare.
Prior to their clash with Islamabad United, the Kings had beaten Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars and Pindiz before losing the Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen. Their three game-winning run to start the campaign will have given Karachi a lot of hope, but this has faded further on the back of a third successive defeat.
While the Kings have won their last two against MS, they have lost six of their last 10 against their opponents. Playing MS on the back of a defeat to Zalmi may yet prove ideal timing, but I am backing the Sultans to secure a crucial win in the context of their season.
Verdict
I am backing Multan Sultans to notch the win as they continue to impress this season.
