Multan Sultans vs Hyderabad Kingsmen Preview & Tips - Kingsmen's losing start to the PSL to continue

Hyderabad Kingsmen have struggled to get going at the start of the season, with the new team losing their first two PSL outings. 

This will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive match. 

Multan Sultans began the new season in the perfect way as 2025's bottom club matched their winning total after a single match. 

One win in 10 last season was a woeful return, but the Sultans were able to get off on the right foot this season with a win over Islamabad United. Restricting their opponents to 171/8 gave the side all of the firepower they needed with the bat as they stormed to a five-wicket win with eight balls to spare. Josh Philippe (55 from 35) starred with the bat as Momin Qamar (3/24) did much of the damage with the ball. 

While the Sultans will know they can take little for granted after their woeful showing last season, they will be confident heading into their latest game. The Kingsmen have lost their first two matches by large margins and I back the Sultans to notch a crucial victory as they extend their winning run. 

Hyderabad Kingsmen would have know that they faced a real test to begin their time as a fully-fledged PSL team with a win, but they would have hoped to have gotten closer to victories in their two opening matches. 

Defeats to the Lahore Qalandars (by 69 runs) and Quetta Gladiators (by 40 runs) have seen the Kingsmen struggle to truly compete. Both of their defeats have come with the side batting second, with the Kingsmen yet to go beyond the 140-run mark with the bat. 

Perhaps winning the toss and batting first will prove more beneficial for them, with the prospect of chasing a score one that has not agreed with them. While the Sultans would have been the perfect opponent to face last season, I predict that the Kingsmen will slip to a third consecutive defeat as their tough start to the campaign continues.
