Lahore Qalandars vs Quetta Gladiators Preview & Tips
Lahore Qalandars were hammered by Peshawar Zalmi in a 76-run loss in their last game as their losing run was extended to two matches.
Quetta Gladiators also lost to Peshawar Zalmi in their last match as their eight-wicket defeat saw the side fail to build on a 61-run over Pindiz.
- Qalandars have won their last two against their opponents
Head To Head
The Qalandars have won six of their last 10 matches against the Gladiators, with the latter winning the other four.
Lahore Qalandars Form
Lahore Qalandars need to start picking up wins in the PSL, with their opening five matches ending in three defeats and just two victories.
Their inability to build on a 20-run win over Multan Sultans has seen much of the confidence this huge win would have created disappear. Since then, Lahore have lost to Islamabad United by nine wickets and Peshawar Zalmi by 76 runs. Both defeats were crushing on the scoreline and will have knocked all of the wind out of the side.
Despite the fact they arrive for this one on the back of two defeats, Lahore can build on two wins over the Gladiators in their last two attempts. Wins by 79 runs and six wickets in both meetings in 2025 will have Lahore confident and I back them to end their losing run this season.
Quetta Gladiators Form
Quetta Gladiators may sit two places above Lahore in the standings, but they have not bettered the points tally of their opponents, with both side securing four points. The main difference at this stage is the fact that Quetta have played a game more than Lahore.
Quetta's last game ended in an eight-wicket loss to Peshawar Zalmi, with the latter roaring to victory. This match saw the Gladiators bat first as they limped to 154 all out in 20 overs. In reply, Zalmi reached their target with eight wickets and nine deliveries to spare in a comfortable win.
While the form of the two sides alludes to this one potentially going either way, I predict that Quetta's poor run against Lahore will come back to bite them as they lose for the fifth time in seven PSL matches.
Verdict
I am backing Lahore to end their two-game losing run as they leapfrog their opponents in the standings.
