Lahore Qalandars vs Islamabad United Preview & Tips

Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans by 20 runs in their last outing as they bounced back from a disappointing four-wicket loss to Karachi Kings in the game before.

Islamabad United hammered Pindiz by seven wickets in their last match as they extended their winning run in the competition to two matches.

Lahore Qalandars began the season with a statement 69-run win over Hyderabad Kingsmen before they were consigned to a four-wicket loss at the hands of Karachi Kings. They then beat the Multan Sultans by 20 runs in a match reduced to 13 overs a-side.

Both of Lahore’s wins have come when batting first, with the side posting totals of 199/6 and 185/5. However, when the batting conditions are slightly more challenging, they have not been as confident, with the Qalandars limping to 128/9 against the Kings in game two.

It will be interesting to see whether the Qalandars can deal with chasing a total after going in to bat first three times. United have looked strong of late and will give Lahore a thorough examination, and this is a test I predict the Qalandars will fail.

Islamabad United Form

Islamabad United arrive for their latest match on the back of a pair of wins that saw them bounce back from a loss in their opener to Multan Sultans and an abandoned match against Peshawar Zalmi.

Since then, they have secured triumphs over Quetta Gladiators by eight wickets and Pindiz by seven wickets. Both victories have come with United batting second as they have chased targets of 184 and 157 with general ease.

With Qalandars losing seven of their last 10 completed matches, this feels like the perfect time for United to end a run of a single win across their last seven against their opponents. I predict they will do just that as they continue their impressive start to the new season.
