Bangladesh vs Pakistan 3rd ODI Preview & Tips
Bangladesh got a taste of their own medicine in the second ODI against Pakistan as they were skittled for 114 in a big defeat.
Pakistan stormed to a statement win as their solid score of 274, which was altered to 243 on the DLS method, was defended well by their excellent bowling attack.
- Salman Ali Agha notched 64 for Pakistan in the second ODI
- Pakistan have won five of their last six in the ODI game
Head To Head
Pakistan have won five of their last 10 50 over matches against Bangladesh, with the latter winning the other five.
Bangladesh Form
After bundling Pakistan out for 114 in the first ODI, Bangladesh were stunned in the second ODI as they too were skittled for a paltry score of 114.
Bowling first, Bangladesh had to wait until the 12th over for the first wicket with the score at 103. To their credit, they took regular wickets from there, with the touring side scoring 171/9 following the fall of their first wicket.
Considering Pakistan were 103 without loss, restricting them to 274 was a decent result. However, after slipping to 15/3, chasing down a revised target of 243 was always going to be a tall order, and so it proved as they slumped to 114 all out.
In the third and final ODI it is still all to play for, but the worry will be that they were so poor in the second match that this will bleed into their final outing. With their 128-run loss still ringing in their ears, I predict that Bangladesh will slip to a 2-1 series loss.
Pakistan Form
Pakistan showed their excellent ability to bounce back in the second ODI as they stormed to a 128-run win via the DLS method.
Despite the controversy surrounding Salman Ali Agha’s run-out, Pakistan were not to be denied a win in the second ODI. Their solid start with the bat made way for a slightly underwhelming total, but their bowlers used the conditions perfectly as they tore through the home team.
While the bowling unit worked in tandem, it was left to Maaz Sadaqat (75) and Salman Ali Agha (64) to score the bulk of the runs. Ali Agha looked back to his solid best in the clash and I predict that he will exact revenge for his run-out with another good score in a win for Pakistan.
Verdict
I am backing Pakistan to secure a 2-1 series win over Bangladesh as Salman Ali Agha scores 30+ runs again.
