Australia vs Pakistan Women T20 World Cup Preview & Tips - Pakistan's miserable CWC to continue

Pakistan Women were unable to seriously trouble Bangladesh in their last game as they slumped to a 23-run loss at the hands of their opponents. 

Australia have won their last 10 T20's against Pakistan in a dominant run for the former. 

Australia Women have looked very strong at the 2026 World Cup, beating South Africa by 65 runs, Bangladesh by nine wickets and the Netherlands by 98 runs. 

Their dominant run has come against a strong South Africa side that they never allowed into the game along with wins over a pair they knew they were big favourites to beat. In their last outing against the Netherlands, Australia smashed their way to 219/6 before restricting their opponents to 121/3. While wickets were not the order of the day for either side, the Aussies were incredibly miserly as they only allowed the Netherlands to score at a shade above a run per ball. 

Currently sat clear at the top of Group A, Australia will know that a win over Pakistan is the base requirement in this one. While they will back themselves to beat India in their final game, they can underline their knockout stage credentials with a win in this one. 

Beth Mooney was outstanding in her last outing for the Aussies, while she has clamed fears around her injury heading into this one. If Mooney appears then she will likely play a key role, and I back her to put Pakistan under pressure with the bat. 

It has been a tournament to forget for Pakistan so far, with three defeats seeing them slide down the standings with any hopes of making it out of Group A shrinking with each match that goes by. 

Their clash with Bangladesh was one they needed to win, and they were right in the game as their opponents were restricted to just 123/6 with Pakistan then making it to 49 without loss. However, wickets began to fall regularly as they went from 49/0 after 7.2 overs to 84/8 after 17.1 overs. Their collapse was one that has seen their hopes of a knockout berth all but extinguished. 

Pakistan have lost their last three T20's against Australia by eight wickets twice and nine wickets once. The difference between the sides is massive, and I predict Pakistan will slump to a fourth consecutive defeat at the tournament.
